Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Finance Manager to join our

team and lead our accounting operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements,

and play a key role in driving financial planning and analysis activities, providing financial

insights to support business decisions. In this position, you will report to VP of Finance, work

with external bookkeepers/accountants and collaborate closely with department leaders. This

role requires a blend of proficiency in accounting operations, financial reporting with financial

planning and analysis skills and offers great growth potential.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting operations, own and lead the A/R, A/P, Payroll processing and month-end closing with external bookkeepers/accountants.
• Prepare and file GST/HST returns; Administer year-end payroll filings.
• Manage year-end closing and the external annual audits.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting package for investors and senior management,
• provide variance analysis between actual results and budgets.
• Deliver consistent, timely, accurate and insightful financial data to department leaders and the executive team.
• Maintain and develop accounting policies. Drive continuous improvement in financial processes with an emphasis on scalability and efficiency.
• Participate in annual budgeting processes, working with department leaders to ensure alignment with overall business goals.
• Assist with developing and refining financial models (annual planning, products break-even, cost analysis and optimization, etc.)
• Participate in cross-functional ad-hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years experience in a finance or accounting role, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards and financial analysis techniques.
• Proficiency in QBO and the automation tools in QBO ecosystem.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets and financial modeling tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work well in a dynamic role.
