Do you have a stable full-time job that you're keeping but want to make some extra cash with a side gig? Would you like to make an extra $350-400 working about 10-12 hours a month?
If you are available during the weekday daytime (Monday - Thursday between 9a and 4p), this may be your lucky day!
We’re looking for a Better Beer Rep who lives in Regina to join our team of over 60 smart, happy, awesome humans helping make the world better, one pint at a time.
What is Better Beer?
We help our clients (restaurant and bar owners who serve draught beer) improve their draught quality, profitability, and sales. We do that in various ways but need help with our quality assurance program. We need someone to help us do a monthly quality assessment at our clients' establishments. A Beer Quality Auditor, you ask? Yes, there is such a thing—and it’s a pretty cool part-time gig.
Here's what you'd do:
- Once a month, you will audit our clients’ draught beer systems in Regina. Our clients welcome our feedback and pay for our service, so they’re not hostile - don’t worry. You'll be helping them.
- An audit takes about 30 minutes to execute.
- Audit times are weekday (Monday - Thursday) mornings and afternoons. We avoid lunch hours, evenings, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays as the restaurants are busy.
- An audit includes inspecting the walk-in beer fridge (kegs, lines, equipment) and the bar (taps and glasses).
- You’ll type in notes about your findings, upload images on your tablet/iPad and speak with the Manager.
Qualifications:
Please read this section carefully and only apply if you meet the requirements. We don’t want to waste your time or ours. Does this describe you? You have:
- Experience working in a full-service restaurant (this is preferred but not essential).
- You live year-round in Regina.
- Great communication skills - you like to talk and are friendly to other people.
- Weekday daytime availability each month.
- Have a smartphone you can use as a hotspot (and know how to do that).
- Have a valid driver's license and a vehicle.
- Have another stable source of income. This is essential as this is a part-time gig and not something you can rely solely on to meet your financial obligations; OR, you are a stay-at-home parent/person just looking for something part-time.
If you end up joining our amazing team, you’ll need:
- A working, up-to-date tablet or iPad (with a case) that you know how to use. You'll need this to post the audits. Laptops or phones won't work. If you don't have one, you can get a decent one on Amazon for about $140.
- Have a valid Serve It Right. The cost is $30. It is a government requirement to pour beer - yes, you’ll be pouring beer, but unfortunately, you won’t drink it. People like cold beer; part of our job is helping our clients pour it cold.
Compensation:
We’ll teach you about draught beer systems, how they impact draught quality, and how to execute an audit. Then, we'll work with you to help you get the hang of things. We’ll make you a draught beer expert!
To start, you will receive $35.00 for each completed audit. Our continuing education courses teach you more about draught and how to become a better auditor. Your audit fee increases in months 3, 6 and 12 based on your performance. By the end of your first year, you should make over $40 per 30-minute audit.
We'll also pay you for in-person training.
