Permanent, Full-Time (40 hrs) | Shift: Sunday - Thursday | Benefitted Position
Are you a hospitality leader who thrives on caring for customers and staff? Are you looking for more meaning in your work?
PARC Retirement Living is an award-winning developer and operator of independent senior-living communities. We’re seeking a Dining Room Manager to join our Oceana PARC team in White Rock.
About working at PARC
The PARC dining experience is as fast-paced and service-oriented as any high-end restaurant or café – and our cuisine rivals the best, too! But PARC is also the place our residents call home. As you become a member of our close-knit team, you’ll also forge close relationships with the seniors who live here.
As PARC Dining Room Manager, you’re a leader on our Food and Beverage team, responsible for:
- Creating an incredible dining experience for our residents and guests, under the direction of the Chef de Cuisine – everything from our atmosphere and service to meal plating, lighting, music, and sanitation.
- Cultivating a respectful, positive, warm, and professional work environment for staff.
- Greeting and seating residents, and reporting head counts as needed.
- Answering questions about our menus, managing reservations, and resolving any customer issues.
- Liaising between the dining room and kitchen teams, sharing resident feedback on meals with the Chef de Cuisine and Food Services Manager.
- Recruiting, training, assessing, scheduling, leading and inspiring our dedicated and enthusiastic serving team – while communicating and nurturing passion for food, wine, and gracious hospitality.
- Preparing reports and inventories as assigned by the General Manager, including liquor budgets.
- Working closely with the Chef de Cuisine and General Manager to create and execute special events and functions, including catering events, private dinners, and other themed dining events, while promoting and upselling customizable menus and unique guest experiences.

- No more late nights. Unlike the rest of the hospitality world, our closing shift ends at 9 p.m.

- A supportive, diverse team and training opportunities. We believe in giving our people opportunities to advance wherever we can.
- High-value benefits. We offer Extended Health, Dental, Life, AD&D and Disability Insurance, plus an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), to help protect your health, family and way of life. Plus: birthdays off with pay, parental top-ups and much more!
It takes a special kind of person to work here – does this sound like you?
- You’re a respected leader and customer-service trailblazer who can flawlessly oversee all elements of a dining operation, including recruiting, training, managing, and coaching top-performing teams.
- You’re upbeat and positive, and you can hit the ground running in a fast-paced team environment, proactively managing high-stress situations and competing priorities.
- You have a diploma or degree in Hospitality or Business Management, plus at least three years of experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or senior-living industry.
- You’re an outstanding communicator who has top-notch relationship-building skills – with colleagues, suppliers, and the public.
- You possess current First Aid, CPR, Food Safe Level 1, WHMIS, and Serving it Right certificates.
- You have strong knowledge of wine, beer, and mixology, with a proven ability to create cocktails.
- You understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and and other professional services engaged with our residents.
