Now, we are excited to announce the opening of our Artigiano Bar + Test Kitchen! This showcase location will be in West Vancouver, Park Royal South.

We are looking for a talented Test Kitchen Chef to bring this to life. You will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations in our commissary, daily restaurant/bar operations and menu development. The commissary will be a centralized production facility for our 20+ and growing locations across BC and Alberta.
This role requires a blend of culinary expertise, management skills, knowledge of food safety regulations as well as production, packaging and distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Menu Development & Planning:
o Develop recipes and execute menus for both Artigiano Café and Artigiano Bar, designed for consistency and quality across all locations.
o Collaborate with ownership and key stake holders on seasonal menu development.
• Production Management:
o Oversee the daily operations of the commissary kitchen, ensuring timely production and delivery of food items to our cafes.
o Monitor food production processes to ensure the highest quality and consistency.
o Implement and maintain standardized recipes and portion controls.
o Manage delivery schedule to cafes.
• Inventory & Supply Chain Management:
o Manage inventory levels, ensuring the timely ordering of supplies and ingredients.
o Work with purchasing to source high-quality ingredients at competitive prices.
o Monitor and control food costs and wastage.
• Team Management & Development:
o Supervise, train, and develop kitchen team, ensuring they adhere to company standards.
o Manage scheduling of team and production hours in collaboration with General Manager of Artigiano Bar.
o Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
o Lead all training for operations team for menu rollouts and franchise partner onboarding.
• Food Safety & Sanitation
• Communication & Coordination:
o Liaise with franchise partners and café managers to coordinate production schedules and menu items.
o Participate in all training of franchise partners.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 – 10 years’ experience as a Chef in a high-volume production environment.
• Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Enjoys leading dynamic teams.
• Proficiency in inventory management and cost control.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
