The Location: Hollyburn Country Club is located in West Vancouver at 950 Cross Creek Road. Prior to applying for this position, we strongly encourage you to Google our location to ensure that you will be able to travel to and from work as public transportation is limited.

Position Summary

Our service mission is to provide the Hollyburn Membership with an unparalleled hospitality experience, whether during intimate gatherings or large-scale events. As a Banquet Leader, you will play a key role in executing banquet functions with precision and warmth. You will ensure every detail aligns with our service standards, leading the banquet team to deliver seamless, memorable events that reflect Hollyburn’s commitment to excellence.

Position Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and support service staff during all banquet functions to ensure professional, attentive, and timely service.
• Oversee the setup, execution, and teardown of events according to BEOs and Hollyburn standards.
• Confirm and follow all BEO service details, liaising directly with the client on-site regarding any timeline adjustments, room setup changes, or additional AV requirements.
• Communicate and coordinate with the culinary team, Events Manager, and Assistant Events Manager to ensure smooth event execution.
• Greet clients and guests, providing excellent service and addressing questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Monitor service flow and anticipate guest and event needs, resolving challenges proactively.
• Ensure banquet areas are always clean, organized, and well-maintained.
• Coach, train, and motivate new and junior banquet staff to maintain service consistency and team morale.
• Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation standards during all event phases.

Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of banquet or hospitality experience, including 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
• Valid Serving It Right certification (required).
• Food Safe Level 1 certification (preferred).
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
• Flexible schedule — availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Reliable transportation is an asset due to the Club’s location (onsite parking available).

Working Conditions

• This position operates 100% on-site
• Regular evenings or weekend work is required.
• Own transportation is an asset as public transportation is not frequent to/from the Club
• Candidates must complete a Police Information Check as part of the onboarding process.
