West Coast Grill employs promising individuals with an appreciation for food, culture, and passion for the food and beverage industry. We are currently recruiting for Spring 2021, servers/ bartenders.
In these positions you are responsible for offering professional and friendly service to all guests in a restaurant setting.
Duties and Responsibilities as Servers:
• Ensure complete knowledge of menu offerings
• Assist other servers in the clearing/resetting/running of food as needed
• Offer suggestions by using suggestive selling techniques
• Greets guests in a professional and friendly manner and build rapport by asking questions and initiating conversation
• Take guest orders, ring them though correctly, and expedite the orders from the kitchen in a presentable and timely manner
• Ensure all chairs, floors, and work areas are clean and presentable at all times
• Maintain excellent communication between all team members
• Clear tables when guests have completed their meals or beverages as well as after leaving their tables
• Respond to guests who are dissatisfied and notify a Manager as soon as possible if you cannot resolve the issue
• Follow opening, closing and daily on-going procedures and checklist
• Required to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Spend significant portion of shift standing and walking
• Lift up to 23 kg/50lbs multiple times a day
• Carry Trays of Beverages/Carry 3 plates
• Serve it Right certificate
• Level 1 First Aid and Food Safe training would be an asset
• Requires ability to give attention to detail and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently
• Polite, enthusiastic & caring demeanor
• Basic wine/liquor/beer knowledge
• Flexibility with scheduling (weekend and/or evening hours) and able to work at short notice
