Role: Commercial Construction Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Commercial Construction Manager, you will bring:
Project Planning and Initiation:
•Develop project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and resources allocation.
•Conduct thorough project feasibility studies and risk assessments.
•Coordinate with stakeholders to establish project goals and objectives.
•Provide input and advice on proposals and contracts.
Budget and Cost Management:
•Prepare and manage project budgets, tracking expenses, and adherence to financial targets.
•Negotiate contracts with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to optimize project costs.
•Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising project quality.
Schedule and Resource Management:
•Develop and maintain project schedules, monitoring progress and identifying potential delays.
•Allocate resources effectively, including labor, materials, and equipment, to meet project requirements.
•Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
•Establish quality standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations and building codes.
•Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to maintain construction standards.
•Address any quality issues or non-compliance issues promptly and effectively.
Risk Management:
•Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
•Monitor project risks and create and implement contingency plans as needed.
•Proactively resolve conflicts and disputes to maintain project momentum.
Client Communication and Relationship Management:
•Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns.
•Build strong client relationships based on trust, transparency, and effective communication.
•Ensure client satisfaction by delivering projects that meet or exceed their expectations.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
•Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
•Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members based on their skills and expertise.
•Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
As the Commercial Construction Manager, you will bring:

•Demonstrated adaptability, dependability, and proactive problem-solving skills.

•Proficiency in MS Office suite, with a quick aptitude for learning new software.
•Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a Commercial Construction Manager, or similar, in construction management.
•Thorough knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
•Familiarity or expertise in building components such as HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.
•Sound understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks governing construction projects.
•Comprehensive safety practices including WHMIS and CPR First Aid certification.
•SCOT training preferred.
•Mechanical aptitude required.
