New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Project Manager to help our client with a large facility redevelopment project with a focus on clinical systems. The scope of work includes project scope definition, pre-implementation (foundational) activities, supporting vendor procurement activities and vendor management, participation in hiring of project resources, and all project and change management implementation-related activities through to project close.

The successful candidate will be experienced in clinical systems implementation with a demonstrable track record in providing project management services.

Responsibilities:

Project Management & Business Analysis:

• Lead key stakeholders in gathering functional requirements and documenting workflows.
• Develop and maintain a Project Charter, Project Management Plan, Project Schedule, Project budget, Change Request process, and other project-related documentation.
• Direct and manage project execution.
• Interview project resources.
• Collaborate on vendor procurement activities with procurement, including contract negotiation.
• Work with internal and external project teams and vendors to ensure tasks are on track.
• Call and chair project team and other applicable meetings.
• Document all findings and recommendations in a central area accessible to all project stakeholders.
• Liaise directly with project staff, as necessary, and ensure appropriate processes are completed before go-live or implementation.
• Create final project closure documentation and perform a post-implementation review.

Scope Management

• Collaboration with project leadership to formalize project scope.
• Engage with departmental sponsors and key stakeholders to confirm scope definition, goals, objectives, and benefits.
• Identify all pre-implementation (foundational) work required to be completed by the stakeholders in preparation for implementation through engagement with client resources and the project team.
• Work with project resources to identify requirements, define, verify and control scope, create, and manage WBS.
• Managing and monitoring of budgets/scope and timeline.

Communications Management

• Prepare and distribute communications and other related project information.
• Manage stakeholder’s expectations.
• Report on project progress/status, schedule, meeting minutes, decisions, outcomes, risks, and other such requested reporting requirements.
• Provide regular reporting to departmental sponsors and stakeholder groups.
• Escalate issues/changes (e.g., scope changes).

Risk Management

• Monitor and control major risks, identify mitigation strategies as necessary.
• Identify relationships, connections, and collaboration points between internal and external teams and collaborators.

Change Management

• Communication and communication planning.
• Sponsor activities and any sponsor roadmaps required.
• Preparation and delivery of training.
• Celebrating and recognizing success.
• After-project review and assessment of departmental sponsor satisfaction.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience managing complex, high profile projects/initiatives in an acute healthcare setting.
• Extensive experience in managing projects involving clinical information systems which include a significant component of system design, testing, documenting workflows and user education.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage clinical, technical and application groups to ensure project is on time and within scope and budget.
• Exceptional facilitation skills at the Senior Management and other organizational levels.
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience or knowledge of clinical downstream applications and end to end clinical workflows is an asset.
• Experience engaging key project stakeholders in clinical, e-health, and clinical solutions service provider groups is an asset.
• Familiarity with implementing an enterprise level milk management system in an acute setting environment is an asset.
