The Position
In the role of Environmental Services Houseperson Attendant, we are looking for candidates who are customer service oriented, organized, able to use many types of equipment and enjoy cleaning with attention to detail and embrace our high levels of standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to patron issues in a timely manner and provide resolution to issues, while providing superior customer service.
- Promote excellent employee relations through respect, courtesy, tact and friendliness.
- Clean and maintain all assigned areas, public and non-public in an effective, efficient, safe manner.
- Ensure all cleaning products are stored in the designated area and in a safe and secure environment.
- All equipment is operated, cleaned and maintained according to Standard Operating Procedure.
- Accurately complete inspection reports on all equipment used.
- WHMIS: must be familiar with and follow all WHMIS standards and accurately complete an annual WHMIS test.
- Responsible Gaming: must be familiar with all Responsible Gaming regulations and able to identify and report “Red Flag Behaviours” and accurately complete an annual Responsible Gaming test.
- Accurately follow an SOP (standard operating procedure) and operation of equipment required for each job assignment and perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain Fall Arrest/Aerial Lift license and be recertified every three years. (Casino Rama to provide training).
- Able to work outdoors in all types of weather, including extreme heat, extreme cold with exposure to insects.
- Must be prepared to complete work assignments/tasks as scheduled and meet deadlines as required.
- Work in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
What You’ll Require
- Ability to work with industrial floor cleaning equipment and able to push and lift heavy equipment.
- Ability to work on a scissor lift at elevated heights of nineteen feet or more.
- Ability to safely operate an outdoor utility vehicle in all types of weather.
- Ability to work independently and/or cohesively as part of a team and inspire, foster commitment and pride while promoting good employee relations with co-workers.
- Committed to learning, be competent and maintain knowledge of cleaning supplies, floor care equipment and other motorized equipment, including proper and safe storage of such.
- Ability to safely work with specialized cleaning chemicals, such as strippers, waxes, sealing agents, etc.
- Able to perform duties continuously throughout a shift and multiple times per week (example: dusting slot machines, washing floors).
- Good organizational skills.
- Demonstrate accountability and follow through on commitments.
- Good physical stamina and able to continuously perform heavy lifting, bending stretching.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to shovel snow and assist with emergency situations.
- Proven customer service experience.
- Able to work in a busy, fast paced environment.
- Able to work in a “smoking” environment while cleaning outdoor Smoke Shelters.
- Previous similar experience is an asset.
