Schedule Hours: 9am – 5pm, Monday – Friday, 37.5 hrs per week
Typical Day in Role:
• The main function of an IT Project Manager is to oversee the application of project management methodology during all phases of the project cycle, with responsibilities that include project design, scope management, cost control, quality and performance reporting
• Manage the project RAID log and schedule meetings with various stakeholders, document meeting minutes, etc.
• Develop, track and manage project budget, project plans, timelines and scope
• Partner closely with other members of functional teams to define business requirements
• Lead teams of developers in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs
• Define test plans and ensure that products are defect free before User Acceptance Testing
• Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures
• Ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized
Must Have Skills:
1) 5+ years’ managing end to end projects, building project plans, managing RAID logs, leading workshops
2) Experience working in day to day stand ups and comfortable to working with stakeholder population to ensure key deliverables are tracked and maintained throughout the project life cycle. Agile project experience is required (e.g. running scrum board, Jira experience)
3) 5+ years’ experience within banking, ideally within Capital Markets
4) Strong working proficiency with Microsoft Project Plan and Visio (shown in recent projects)
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Capital Markets and trade surveillance experience is a plus
- Experience with operation readiness process
- Experience running scrum board is an asset
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills to work on Project Management experience, specifically around project tracking, status, working with stakeholders to ensure that risk and issues for project is moving along
-People management and team building skills
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities
-Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization
- Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions
-Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment
Best vs Average: The most critical skillset is strong experience working independently, managing end to end projects, building project plans, managing RAID logs, leading workshops. On top of listed skillsets, experience with trade surveillance and managing upstream data streams (and working with upstream stakeholders and vendors) will set candidates apart.
