Working at Miku Toronto offers a strong introduction to fine dining service, with a focus on precision, teamwork, and elevated guest experience.

Management

Management is generally supportive and knowledgeable in fine dining standards. Many employees highlight strong leadership and opportunities to learn, though consistency can vary depending on the individual. Everyone is generally nice and open to growing with the team, not often against the team.

Work Culture

The team environment is one of the strongest aspects. Staff are typically friendly, professional, and collaborative, creating a supportive atmosphere on the floor. Long-term employees and strong team bonds reflect a good culture overall, though some note occasional cliques or favoritism. In term of the culture established by the business, it is not truly prominent.

Operations

Operations are fast-paced and detail-oriented, reflecting fine dining standards. Staff are often cross-trained and expected to support multiple roles, which builds versatility but can also be demanding during peak service. Scheduling and shift consistency can sometimes be unpredictable.

Environment

It’s a great place to develop knowledge of Japanese cuisine and refine hospitality skills in a professional setting.

Overall

Miku Toronto is a great place to build foundational experience in fine dining, especially for those looking to develop strong service standards and teamwork skills. While there are occasional challenges with scheduling and consistency, the supportive team, high-quality environment, and learning opportunities make it a solid workplace.

The food is good, so you wont have to lie about it and feel bad about selling it to the customers. The managers will listen if you have and questions, complaints or suggestions. The hours are good too.

The training is great and everyone is welcoming in the beginning. However very quickly you can tell that the employees especially in the front of house are very cliquey and rude. There is one manager who does not know what they are doing and is very rude and I don’t know how they became a manager. Then there’s a bartender who picks and chooses when he wants to talk to you and be nice and everyone just lets that happen. Other then that the money is great and the training is extensive the other management is awesome it’s just particular employees who ruin the atmosphere and don’t make it as welcoming as it seem. They probably wouldn’t have such a high turnover rate if those certain employees weren’t there spoiling the experience to work there. I love how they train you to speak Japanese in the atmosphere and the food/cocktails are delicious!
