I personally dealt with either amazing managers or negligent ones and good leadership really determines how the whole team operates. I saw a lot of favouritism going on but thats the case in any workplace. I personally got along with my coworkers and thought I was compensated well for my time. This is definitely a good place to build experience for a future in hospitality.

I worked at the Old Spaghetti Factor in Richmond for 3 years. It's an okay entry-level restaurant to gain experience in different restaurant roles. The coworkers are really great, but I feel like we were mostly bonding over how chaotic and stressful working here was. The kitchen would get backed up a lot and at times, my section would get full in the span of just a few minutes and the manager would sometimes just not help me so serving could get really overwhelming. The biggest con for me when I worked here was the lack of cleanliness in the restaurant. It was honestly disgusting. Plates, bowls, and cutlery would come out dirty after being in the dishwasher and we would still give these dirty dishes to the customers. It was a daily occurrence that a customer would complain about the dishes or tables or floors or seats or anything being dirty. I would literally have to hand wash cutlery myself to give to the customers. I don't know why the management never did anything about that even though they were aware of it. The management was ok. Some were better and more helpful than others.
