Executive Chef – Jess' Restaurant Group

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead all culinary operations at our Jess' Sky, including high-volume weddings, banquets, events, and daily restaurant service. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to execute large events while maintaining consistent restaurant operations.

The ideal candidate has proven experience in banquet and wedding execution, cost control, and team leadership, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all kitchen operations for restaurant service, banquets, weddings, and special events
  • Plan and execute high-volume events while operating a full-service restaurant simultaneously
  • Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff to maintain a positive and professional work environment
  • Develop seasonal menus for both à la carte and events that meet quality and profitability targets
  • Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and health regulation compliance
  • Manage food and labor costs, inventory, ordering, and waste control
  • Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Director to enhance guest experience and operational efficiency
  • Address kitchen issues quickly and effectively during service and events

Performance Expectations

  • Meet or exceed established food and labor cost targets
  • Deliver weddings, banquets, and events on time, on budget, and to agreed standards
  • Maintain consistent food quality during peak service and event periods
  • Achieve positive guest feedback for both events and restaurant dining
  • Pass all health inspections with no critical violations
  • Develop and retain a strong, motivated kitchen team

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Certification – Required
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Executive Chef
  • Strong banquets, weddings, and large-scale events experience required
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume events alongside restaurant operations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Food Safe Level 3 preferred
