At The SPORT Gallery, you’ll work in a space that celebrates the history and culture of sport, where customers come to learn, talk, and connect — not just buy something and leave. If you have retail experience and enjoy being trusted with responsibility, contributing ideas, and being part of a small, close-knit team, this role is for you.
This position is well-suited to someone with 5+ years of retail experience who wants more involvement and ownership in their work. You’ll be a key part of the day-to-day running of the gallery and coffee bar, working alongside a small team where everyone’s contribution matters.
The Role
As a Keyholder, you’ll open and close the gallery and the ARENA Coffee Bar, helping set the tone for each day. You’ll make sure the space is clean, organized, and ready to welcome customers.
You’ll spend time on the floor talking with visitors, helping them find items or artwork that resonate with them, and sharing knowledge about sport and its history. You’ll receive new product, add it to our inventory system, and prepare it for both the sales floor and our online shop. You’ll also manage online orders, packing and shipping them with care and attention to detail.
Merchandising is an important part of the role. Using your understanding of sport—past and present—you’ll help create displays that feel timely, cohesive, and story-driven.
You’ll also work on the ARENA Coffee Bar side, where you’ll be trained to make espresso and coffee drinks, responsibly serve alcohol, and keep the bar clean and running smoothly.
Because we’re a small team, you’ll be involved in many parts of the business. If you have interests in photography, video, social media, events, or marketing, we'd love to have you contribute in those areas as well.
Our shared goal is to make The SPORT Gallery a welcoming place for lifelong sports fans, and a place where new fans can discover the history, art, and culture of sport.

The SPORT Gallery first opened in 2006 in Toronto's Distillery Historic District. Our first gallery was dedicated entirely to our fine art prints and select paintings from renowned sports artists. In 2009, The SPORT Gallery expanded to offer a selection of vintage-inspired apparel. In 2016, we expanded our flagship Toronto gallery, moving to a 2500-square-foot space in the Distillery District.
Today our flagship gallery features a high-end coffee offering, ARENA Coffee Bar, developed in partnership with Toronto's Pilot Coffee Roasters, and serving as a comfortable space to watch a game, sport documentary, and enjoy a great cup of coffee or specialty beer from Toronto's Left Field Brewery. Our Toronto gallery also doubles as an event space, with large fully automatic pull-out bleacher seating. We frequently feature SPORTTalks, SPORT Trivia nights, and games on the big screen.
