ABOUT THE POSITION
The Terminal City Club, Vancouver’s Premier Private Members Club is seeking a full time Lead Bartender for the Club’s restaurants. Reporting to the Restaurants Manager, the Lead Bartender will oversee the bar operations, enhance the skill set of an engaged team while delivering uncompromised service to the Club’s members and guests. With a flair for innovation and creativity, you will collaborate to provide new and exciting beverage options for the assigned areas.
Terminal City Club has 11 meeting spaces, 2 ballrooms, 2 restaurants, 1 pub, 1 wine & cocktail lounge, 6 billiards tables, 3 squash courts, a four-lane 25-meter swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and licensed patios on four levels of The Club with sweeping views of the North Shore mountains. Our Members and Guests are the backbone of our organization, and we strive to uphold and enhance the tradition of service on which the Club was founded in 1892.
Oversee the bar operations in all restaurants within the Terminal City Club
Provide personalized service to members and guests, acknowledging by name whenever possible.
Host special events.
Act as a liaison between the Restaurants (Outlets) departments and the Assistant Beverage Manager
Responsible for maintaining a beverage inventory system for assigned areas including Outlet bars, wine cellars and storage areas. Participate in briefings and beverage/wine tastings
Ensure all bars are consistent in set up and that all bartenders are properly trained in accordance with Terminal City Club standards of service
Ensure wine room, wine cellars, bars, and liquor storeroom are maintained and cleaned on a regular basis
Responsible for maintaining established par stocks for all alcoholic and non-alcoholic products
Ensure administration is completed in a timely manner; consumption and spillage reports are maintained daily
Assist with the monthly beverage inventory
Uphold Health & Safety regulations in relation to all tasks and activities undertaken in the department
Several years’ experience bartending in a high-end establishment
Supervisory experience with proven leadership ability.
Have an out-going personality, a polished image and exceptional communication skills; emphasis on professional, seamless guest service
Extensive beverage knowledge required with a desire to continually expand food & beverage knowledge
Must have passion for fine spirits, cocktails, wines, and exquisite food
Be highly organized and efficient; have a solid working knowledge of various computer programs
Serving it Right Certification is required
Flexibility with schedule to align with Club events (typically 3.30pm to close)
