We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead the daily operations of our new project, The Powder Room on Yorkville, a curated nightlife concept fusing high fashion, luxury mixology, and exclusive Toronto energy. The ideal candidate will be a versatile hospitality professional with strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, capable of managing staff, driving revenue, and ensuring a seamless guest experience across both business models.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring both run smoothly and efficiently.
• Manage opening and closing procedures.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to increase productivity and efficiency.
• Create a positive guest experience by delivering a high level of service with guests to understand their needs and exceed their expectations
• Consistently review operations to identify any problems, concerns and opportunities for improvement
• Provide coaching and feedback to team members and assess performance on an ongoing basis
• Lead a positive team environment by recognizing and reinforcing individual and team accomplishments
• Preparing tip outs, cash floats and cashing out servers and bartenders
• Follow inventory control procedures and guidelines
• Establish and delegate work duties to staff members as needed
• Manage biweekly payroll reports and labour cost
• Hiring, training and managing front of house staff
• Other related duties assigned by the management
Qualifications:
• At least 4 years of experience in a managerial/leadership role
• Experience as a General Manager is an asset
• Extensive knowledge of liquors and wines is an asset
• Knowledge of POS systems, scheduling software, and restaurant/nightclub operations.
• Strong customer service background and excellent communication skills
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills
• Ability to train and delegate
• Extensive knowledge of liquors and wines
• Ability to work flexible hours, days, weekends shifts including holidays
• Must be legally able to work in Canada
