The Overnight Desk Security role is to protect the Casa Loma's assets, patrons and employees against theft, fraud, vandalism and abuse at night.
Responsibilities:
- Access control activities overnight
- Working night shifts
- Manage high volume of guests at various points throughout the property at highly attended events and/or performances
- Present a polished, professional image at all times
- Adhere to a strict Code of Conduct
- Incident management and reporting
- Bag and personal belongings searches per Section 8 of the Charter of Rights
- Securing doors, windows and other access points
- Performing basic First Aid and/or CPR as required
- Investigating and reporting on security related incidents
- Following Post Orders and providing daily security updates to management
- Providing directions and information to guests
- Creating a positive experience for visitors and guests
- Working collaboratively with others
- Enforcing security policies and procedures as outlined and approved by management
- Identifying and providing information and insight on potential security threats
- Other duties as assigned"
Requirements
" - Valid & Current MCS Ontario Security Guard License
- Emergency First Aid/CPR
- Valid Smart Serve
- Previous Security experience in a demanding environment
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (English)
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Experience writing detailed and accurate security reports
- Ability to remain calm and organized in crisis situations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to communicate to various types of individuals fluently and clearly
- Ability to follow instructions and take direct orders
- Commitment to security procedures and protocols
- Personal accountability and ownership
- Solid understanding of Use of Force Model, Criminal Code of Canada as well as familiarity with Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws"
