Host / Hostess

Sumu Restaurant is an innovative dining concept focused on revolutionizing the restaurant experience through creativity, culture, technology, and community. We are building more than just a restaurant — we are creating a brand and movement that connects people through unforgettable food and experiences.

We are looking for friendly, energetic, and outgoing Hosts/Hostesses to join our team at our downtown Vancouver location. As the first and last impression of the restaurant, you play a huge role in creating a welcoming and memorable experience for every guest.

A smile, positive energy, and great attitude are a must.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming first impression

• Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest seating efficiently

• Maintain smooth front door flow and communication with the service team

• Answer phone calls and assist guests with inquiries professionally

• Provide exceptional customer service with a positive and friendly attitude

• Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the front entrance and waiting areas

• Support the front of house team during busy service periods

• Ensure guests feel valued and taken care of from arrival to departure

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or customer service experience is an asset

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Positive attitude with a friendly and outgoing personality

• Must be welcoming, professional, and guest focused

• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast paced environment

• Strong teamwork and problem solving skills

• Reliable and punctual

• Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
