Job Summary :
The Keefer Bar is looking to hire a person that can do both host and bar backing shifts. It would be 3-4 shifts a week: Tuesdays would be bar backing shifts, Thursday-Saturday would be host shifts.
The Host role involves being the lead at the door during service, preparing for and ensuring all reservations are seated on time, re-organzing seating plans to ensure effective use of space, and a strong ability to maximize the number of walk-in guests we are able to accommodate at all times. The ideal candidate will have bright, energetic personality and lead the team in welcoming the guests on a positive first note.
The Bar Back role involves supporting the bartenders with preparing garnishes, getting glassware ready, preparing batches, syrups, and additional ingredients, as well as retrieving bottles, ice and additional supplies. The bar back also assists with serving guests on the bar, running food & clearing plates, and taking payments. The ideal candidate is efficient, and effective communicator and wishes to learn more about cocktails & Spirits
Duties- Host:
-Review daily reservations and make sure all are assigned to the proper tables.
-Review all daily reservation notes and plan to implement all notes prior to service.
-Ensure the floor is properly set up at the beginning of service, including proper spacing and cleanliness of tables.
-During service be the lead on greeting guests positively and enthusiastically.
-Communicate all pertinent reservation notes to servers such as allergies or special occasions.
-Communicate to servers when tables are needed back well in advance to give the servers time to plan their efforts accordingly.
-Through studious and creative use of our space maximize the number of walk-in guests we can accommodate during service.
-Build and maintain guest profiles via our reservation system.
Duties: Bar Back
-Stock wells with ice

-Prep batches, syrups, and juices
-Retrieve bottles form the liquor room
-Running food & clearing plates
-Assisting with payments
Skills & Requirements:
-Proven experience in a front desk or reservations role within the hospitality industry.
-Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse guest needs effectively.
-A well developed ability to adapt, think on your feet, and change any plan at a moment's notice.
-A positive and enthusiastic personality.
-Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills, both verbal and written.
-Familiarity with reservation management software such as Resy or Open Table.
-Basic understanding of cocktails and spirits.
-Good communication skills.
