Job Description

About the Role

The Director of Operations plays a central role in building and maintaining the operational infrastructure that enables Batch to run efficiently, consistently, and at scale across all locations. This role owns inventory management, supplier relationships, ordering systems, delivery coordination, and operational processes that keep the business moving.

Working closely with the CEO, General Manager, and location managers, you’ll translate strategic priorities into clear, practical ways of working that teams can rely on every day. You’ll ensure the right tools, products, and processes are in place at the right time, enabling our teams to stay focused on delivering great service and memorable guest experiences.

We’re looking for a strong operator, ideally with experience in hospitality, food & beverage, or similarly fast-paced environments, who also brings transferable skills from other operationally disciplined industries. You’re comfortable getting hands-on when needed, while also thinking ahead: building smarter systems, strengthening internal controls, and putting the right guardrails in place so the business can grow with confidence.

How You’ll Contribute

  • Own and strengthen the operational infrastructure that enables Batch to operate consistently, compliantly, and at scale across all locations
  • Translate operational priorities into clear, well-documented processes for inventory, ordering, receiving, delivery, and restocking - and ensure they are embedded in day-to-day operations
  • Build practical structures, controls, and routines that improve reliability, accountability, and scalability without adding unnecessary complexity
  • Lead inventory management across locations, including tracking systems, par levels, regular counts, and variance resolution, informed by seasonality, demand, and event activity
  • Monitor inventory-related costs, identify trends and inefficiencies, and implement improvements to reduce waste, shrinkage, and stockouts
  • Own all product ordering for beverages, food supplies, and operational materials, aligning schedules with delivery windows and location-specific needs
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers and distributors, managing relationships, pricing, service levels, and compliance requirements
  • Evaluate, onboard, and manage suppliers, oversee accounts and payment terms, and lead contract and seasonal agreement reviews
  • Coordinate and oversee deliveries across all locations, working closely with logistics partners to ensure timely, reliable service
  • Proactively resolve delivery issues, develop contingency plans for supply disruptions or peak periods, and continuously improve delivery routes and schedules
  • Document, standardize, and continuously improve operational processes, supported by clear SOPs and effective use of tools such as POS integrations and inventory software
  • Build simple, actionable reporting and dashboards to track operational KPIs and support decision-making
  • Lead and support the Bookkeeper and Scheduling & Onboarding Manager, fostering clarity and accountability
  • Partner closely with the General Manager, Team Leads, and Events & Location Manager to support location-specific and event-related operational needs
  • Communicate proactively with leadership on operational risks, priorities, and opportunities, and contribute clear updates in weekly leadership meetings

Who You Are Required

  • Demonstrated experience in operational roles with ownership over inventory systems and supplier relationships
  • Strong operational and technical aptitude, with the ability to build, improve, and maintain reliable processes
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and point-of-sale systems
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail in fast-paced, operational environments
  • Experience tracking operational costs and using data to understand variances, trends, and opportunities for improvement
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Flexibility to work variable hours, including some evenings or weekends during peak season

Nice to have

  • Experience in multi-location food & beverage , hospitality or consumer-facing operations
  • Exposure to seasonal or high-volume businesses with fluctuating demand
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems, POS platforms, and basic accounting or bookkeeping software
  • Leadership experience, including mentoring or coordinating small teams
  • Background or strong interest in the craft beverage industry (beer, wine, spirits)

Requirements:

  • Work Permit
