Position SummaryResponsible for the overall management and performance of our vehicle maintenance facility. Role involves overseeing a team of mechanics and technicians, ensuring the timely and efficient repair and maintenance of our trucking fleet. Additionally, will manage budgets, implement preventive maintenance programs, enforce safety standards, and collaborate with other departments to minimize downtime, optimize vehicle performance, and support the company's logistics and transportation operationsLocation: 1115 Cardiff Blvd., MississaugaSchedule: 40 hours Monday to Friday What you will doDelegating and directing service tasks, monitoring the progress of current projects, and managing service team to ensure the team's objectives and goals are met.Handling customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good customer relationships and ensure repeat customers.Assisting with or performing administrative tasks, such as managing and updating invoices, processing new orders, and tracking inventory.Auditing vendor invoices ensuring job estimates are accurate, and warranty or goodwill requirements are fulfilled while managing to reduce overall repair costs.Working closely with shift managers, setting up and maintaining service department and evaluating its productivity and efficiency.Performing quarterly and yearly performance reviews with shop employees.Resolving service desk problems and improving service methods to increase the service desk's productivity and customer service.Monitoring department issues and client complaints to create methods to lessen recurring issues.Auditing work and customer service to ensure the company's high standards, efficiency, and productivity goals are met.Maintaining strong relationships with manufacturers, dealers and 3rd party vendorsHelping to train new employees in company procedures.Maintaining a strong working knowledge of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws, ensuring the company's adherence to these regulations, and remaining current on the industry's standards and new innovations, materials, tools, and processes.Working closely with local and remote operation teams, scheduling equipment for service and repairs including daily status updatesAvailable 24/7 to provide guidance and approval to the maintenance team as well as the Afterhours Breakdown Center.What You’ll Bring3-4 years of experience working in a Fleet environment with management experienceCollege diploma in a business or related field310T Truck and Coach JourneypersonExcellent leadership, communication and customer service skillsExcellent computer skills which include word and excelStrong industry knowledgegood organizational skillsStrong creative thinking and problem-solvingThe ability to work under pressure and handle stress Why people love working for Canada CartageCohesive team and a positive, hard-working atmosphere.Meaningful opportunities for career growth.Company wide recognition initiatives designed to recognize employees when they demonstrate outstanding customer service, teamwork and our core values.Perks - discounted hotels, car rentals, entertainment, gym memberships, phone plans, electronics, to name a fewFun events throughout the year, like summer barbeques and driver-appreciation week that regularly bring us together.We give back to the communities in which we operate by volunteering and donating to local charities.We are a strong company that weathers the storm through pandemics and recessionary periods, so that we can benefit from good economic environments.
