Job Description
WORTH Association - Women of Recreation, Tourism and Hospitality
Employment Opportunity: Event Manager
Location: Hybrid / Remote
The Event Manager is expected to attend meetings, site visits, and events throughout Metro Vancouver 1–2 times per month, with increased on-site attendance required during peak event planning and execution periods. Occasional out-of-province travel may be necessary throughout the year. The role also requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and other non-standard hours in support of events and organizational activities.
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
Annual Salary: $71,000-76,000
About Us:
WORTH is a grassroots non-profit society advancing women in Canada’s recreation, tourism, and hospitality industries. We educate, elevate, and engage through mentorship, networking, and professional development—helping self-identifying women lead, influence, and shape a more equitable future for the sector.
Job Overview:
At WORTH, events are more than gatherings, they are strategic platforms that build community, amplify underrepresented voices, strengthen industry partnerships, and generate meaningful impact for women in hospitality, tourism, and recreation.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Event Manager leads the event team, operational execution, and the overall delivery of WORTH’s event portfolio. This role works closely with the Operations Manager and the Marketing and Partnerships Manager, as well as internal team members, contractors, and volunteers.
As the Event Manager is expected to both lead strategy and execute key elements directly, this is an ideal opportunity for a highly organized and solutions-oriented event professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and can balance strategic oversight with hands-on operational leadership.
