Location: Onda by Casereccio – Olympic Village, Vancouver
We're looking for an experienced, motivated, and hands-on Shift Lead to join our growing team! If you're passionate about hospitality, enjoy leading by example, and thrive in a fast-paced café and restaurant environment, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Shift Lead, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the café, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while supporting and motivating the team. You'll be responsible for maintaining service standards, overseeing daily operations, and assisting management in creating a positive and efficient workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the team throughout each shift.
- Ensure outstanding customer service and guest satisfaction.
- Coordinate front-of-house operations, including hosting, service, and barista stations.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures.
- Monitor cleanliness, food safety, and health & safety standards.
- Handle guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Train, coach, and support new and existing team members.
- Maintain a positive, energetic, and collaborative work environment.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding daily operations and any issues that arise.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of hospitality or restaurant experience, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Serving It Right certification (required).
- Valid Canadian Work Permit or legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive attitude, professional appearance, and commitment to delivering exceptional hospitality.
