Job Description

Assistant Floor Manager

Spacca Napoli | Port Moody, BC
Salary: $50,000 per year + tips

Spacca Napoli is an award-winning Neapolitan pizzeria recognized by Gambero Rosso, one of Italy's most respected authorities on food, wine, and authentic Italian dining.

Located in the heart of Port Moody, we are an established, independently owned restaurant known for authentic Neapolitan pizza, quality imported ingredients, genuine Italian hospitality, and a passionate team culture.

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Assistant Floor Manager who takes pride in the details, thrives in a busy restaurant environment, and knows how to lead a team with both accountability and respect.

The Role

The Assistant Floor Manager will work closely with the General Manager and ownership to support the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, with a strong presence on the floor and a focus on smooth service, team leadership, guest experience, and operational standards.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable leading from the floor, solving problems in real time, and taking ownership of the details that keep a busy restaurant running well.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts

  • Oversee opening and closing procedures

  • Lead the floor during service and support the team during peak periods

  • Maintain high standards of hospitality and guest experience

  • Coach, support, and hold team members accountable to restaurant standards

  • Monitor staff clock-ins, clock-outs, breaks, and attendance

  • Maintain strong knowledge of the menu, ingredients, and service standards

  • Support food quality control and communication between front and back of house

  • Monitor labour levels during service and make operational adjustments when necessary

  • Oversee cash handling and end-of-day procedures

  • Manage restaurant linens, uniforms, consumable supplies

  • Coordinate maintenance/cleaning needs and follow through to ensure issues are resolved

  • Support compliance with restaurant policies, food safety standards, and liquor regulations

  • Help create an organized, professional, and positive working environment

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of restaurant management experience

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Experience leading busy restaurant services

  • A hands-on management style and willingness to work alongside the team

  • Engages warmly and genuinely with guests, speaks about our menu with knowledge and enthusiasm, and takes pride in sharing the stories, ingredients, and traditions behind the dishes we serve
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Proficient levels of technology knowledge (how to troubleshoot etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure

  • A genuine understanding of hospitality and guest care

  • Ability to give clear direction and hold others accountable respectfully

  • Proficient English

  • Valid authorization to work in Canada

  • Valid Serving It Right certification
