Skye Avenue Kitchen and Lounge is seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team.

We are a modern upscale kitchen and lounge delivering elevated cuisine, exceptional hospitality, and a vibrant guest experience. We are looking for a culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-standard environment and is committed to excellence, consistency, and leadership.

The Role

As Sous Chef, you will work directly with the Executive Chef to lead daily kitchen operations, uphold culinary standards, mentor team members, and ensure flawless execution during service.

This is a leadership opportunity for someone who is organized, creative, disciplined, and ready to contribute to one of Surrey’s most dynamic hospitality venues.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and oversee all daily kitchen operations
• Lead and supervise line cooks and prep staff during service
• Ensure consistency in food quality, plating, and execution
• Assist with menu development, seasonal features, and recipe standardization
• Manage food preparation, portion control, and waste reduction
• Monitor inventory, ordering, and receiving processes
• Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards
• Train, coach, and develop kitchen team members
• Ensure smooth, efficient service during peak hours
• Act as kitchen lead in the Executive Chef’s absence
