Blacksmith Bakery is on the lookout for friendly, energetic and experienced Coffee Barista/Shift Captain to wow our customers with your barista skills, at our Fort Langley location!
MUST be able to work Saturday and Sunday!
Part Time - Full Time Position 24-40h per week!
We are looking for the best in the coffee business to join our team. If you are a team player and have excellent barista skills, provide inspiring customer service and possess a positive and glowing attitude, then we want to hear from you.
Job Responsibilities:
-Making exceptionally good coffee for customers
-Organization and maintenance of the coffee bar
-Ensuring the coffee bar station is clean at all times
-Following the high quality standards set for our barista team
-Ordering coffee/milk/ and paper products.
-Engaging with customers to provide quick and personable positive service experiences
-Fill in for Cashiers and FOH staff when needed
-Lead the team while manager is off duty.
-During down time, you must also be willing to cover duties like serving pastries, point of sale, order taking and packing, maintenance of a clean and organized work environment, as well as monitoring general front of house needs without being asked.

-Follows all Blacksmith Bakery recipes and procedures and complete them in a timely manner
-Is reliable and hardworking - arrives on time, ready to crush it!
-Maintains an organized and hygienic working environment, clean and restock routinely
-Performs well under pressure while maintaining quality, efficiency and friendly service
-Is an inspiring and accountable team leader
-A café culture guru with amazing people skills
-Loves coffee, latte art, and has a solid amount of product knowledge
-Is an engaging personality - positive thinker, and team motivator
-Has strong communication skills, with excellent proficiency in English
-Has leadership skills and the ability to delegate and lead a team through a busy rush.
To be considered, you must possess:
-Must be able to work on the weekends (specifically Sundays)
-The ability to handle the pressure of a busy environment
-The ability to calmly memorize and complete multiple orders at one time
-Finessed latte art skills and an advanced understanding of coffee extraction
-A passion to provide highest quality product and customer experience
-Attention to detail and quick and friendly communication skills
-Experience in, and an ability to use a Point of Sale (POS) system
-Experience in a shift captain/ managerial role is an asset!
Blacksmith Bakery is an artisan bakeshop started in historic Fort Langley, built on the original site of Reid’s blacksmith shop circa 1910. We create real food using traditional artisanal methods, baked fresh daily, on-site, in our open kitchen using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. Blacksmith Bakery is an artisan bakeshop café founded by Stephan Schigas and Bernice Farah in 2014.
Our flagship Café is built on the original site of Reid’s Blacksmith Shop, circa 1910 in Fort Langley BC. Today we have 4 Blacksmith Bakery locations in the Lower Mainland. Our second location, an express café, was opened at the Langley YNJ airport terminal building in the summer of 2020. In September 2022 we launched our third location, an express counter at our production facility in Maple Ridge. One month later we opened our fourth location, a bakeshop café bistro with licensed patio at Latimer Heights in Langley.
