Cardero's is part of the Sequoia Company of Restaurants, which owns and operates four distinct, renowned restaurants across Vancouver.
Job Overview:
As a bartender, you will be responsible for the preparation and service of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage items to all of our guests. In addition, bartenders also provide full food & drink service to guests seated along the bar and Oyster Bar (which overlooks our open kitchen). Bartenders are also responsible for stocking and organizing liquor and all bar products & inventory, maintaining the cleanliness of the entire bar and ensuring that all of our sanitation procedures are followed and completed to the proper standards.
As a Sequoia employee, you will be responsible for following both company and restaurant policies and procedures. Currently, we are looking for a full-time bartender with open availability - days and nights.
Job Requirements:
- Have previous bartending experience in a similar environment; including hotels, restaurants, catering, or other fast paced, high-volume establishments.
- Possess a valid Serving it Right certificate. WSET and/or any other mixology certificates are a huge plus.
- Be fluent in both spoken and written English
- Have a good knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, non-alcoholic beverages, common drink recipes, basic food & beverage pairings or accompaniments, different cuisines and food preparation methods
- Work well under pressure and be able to effectively navigate through stressful situations in a professional manner
- Have solid problem solving, decision making, customer service, communication and sales skills
- Be a team player, and be willing to learn
- Possess strong organizational skills
- Accurately and effectively operate POS terminals, electronic payment systems, and other computerized or electronic systems
