OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW
We are looking for a full-time Bartender to join our team at The Vancouver Club! This role's mission is to provide an energetic and exciting bar experience serving classic and creative cocktails. Teamwork is the key to success in providing a warm and personable experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide creative input on all cocktail menus. Menus are changed four times a year and all bartenders are expected to create, test, price and feature their cocktail on each menu.
- Acknowledge and greet all guests, anticipates guests’ needs and responds promptly and professionally.
- Accurately measure, mix and dispense mixed drinks, cocktails, spirits, beer, wine and other bar beverages accurately and in compliance with Club standards and recipes.
- Provide guidance to members and guests on Club services and activities, dining options and other pertinent F&B information and promotions.
- Serve alcohol to guests in a responsible manner and in accordance with BC liquor laws.
- Be fully aware and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
- Be a competent server and maintain sections of tables in the bar areas.
- Ensure members are billed correctly and efficiently.
- Assist with the preparation of bar related materials including specialty ice, pre-mixed batches, house-made bitters, syrups and garniture.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available at the assigned bar and their descriptions and characteristics.
- Maintain complete knowledge of proper use and maintenance of all bar equipment.
- Ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests in a timely fashion.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic working area by spraying, wiping, sweeping, dusting and cleaning as needed.
- Efficiently perform bar opening and closing duties as indicated and or instructed by management.
- Restock bar with products as needed; change empty kegs with new kegs as needed, keeping area clean and organized (keg/pop room).
- Perform all other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- One to three years of bartending experience in a fine dining establishment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate superior customer service philosophy
- Must have Serving it Right certification
- Will be required to maintain a flexible work schedule Monday - Fridays including evenings.
