Aburi Restaurants Canada is seeking an experienced Bar Manager for their Miku Waterfront (Vancouver) location. As a Japanese fine dining restaurant and pioneers of the Aburi Sushi, we pride ourselves on exceptional service, high quality innovative cuisine, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our growing company.
SCOPE OF WORK:
Must be a committed, proactive bar manager who enjoys working in an exciting, fast-paced environment. The bar manager will promote and grow the beverage program as well as maintain the help train new team members and ensure that our guests are receiving excellent drinks, food, and service.
The bar manager will also manage inventory and resources, help plan any promotional events, ensure that quality and health and safety protocols are followed and maintained. Bar controlled spaces should be maintained and kept on a closely monitored cleaning and maintenance schedule with any damage or issues reported to the MOD.
The bar manager should have an understanding of vendor contracts, update vendor contacts, details and reps, and assist the MOD team set beverage targets to help improve guest satisfaction and maintain P&Ls.
Along with the bar operations, the Bar Manager will also support the FOH management team with their day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
BAR MANAGER PREREQUISITES:
• Previous bar management experience.
• Skilled and/or accredited in bartending or otherwise beverage certificated.
• Understanding of business management and accounting principles.
• Sound computer experience.
• Proven customer service skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts.
• Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Full time availability, 40hrs.
• Effectively delegate responsibilities to team members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and often stressful environment.
