Restaurant La Banane is growing and we are looking for new leaders in our Back of House team!
La Banane is a tight knit group of Chefs, Sommeliers, Servers and Bartenders who take immense pride in our work, and are constantly in pursuit of growth and learning in the world of fine French cuisine.
You will work with the best ingredients, learn the intricate and fundamental techniques of French cooking, and develop relationships with some of Canada's most talented hospitality professionals.
Our ideal candidate is a driven, reliable team player who has an active interest in their team members' welfare, safety and development. They will maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, attention to detail and respect for the food and the equipment with which it is made.
Sous Chef Responsibilities include:
- Leading our team of dedicated, talented and diverse chefs in their daily pursuit of perfect operations.
- Upholding and dissemination of the standards and philosophies of the restaurant and Executive Chef
- Execution of the menu to the highest possible standard
- Overseeing preparation and service of ingredients on various stations throughout the restaurant.
- Cooking and expediting in a high intensity kitchen with the ability to maintain quality and consistency under pressure
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen
A successful candidate will have:
- Knowledge and understanding of French cuisine
- Passion for food, hospitality and restaurant operations
- Drive, motivation and perseverance
- Team building and development skills
