NODO is an Italian restaurant concept with 4 locations across the city of Toronto - Junction, Hillcrest, Leslieville and Liberty Village.
We are looking for an Junior Event Coordinator to assist with planning and executing events for our Liberty Village location.
** Please note that the Junior Events Coordinator is required to be on site to execute events on evenings and weekends. **
What You'll Do:
- Respond to event inquiries as a liaison to gather more information that comes through the general inboxes and distribute to correct team members.
- Respond to guest’s requests and correspondence in a timely manner.
- Organize site tours or meetings with prospective guests to discuss event details or spaces.
- Prepare proposals for clients and maintain well-organized event records, including Event - Orders that clearly states the menu, beverage offerings and the finer details required to execute the event.
- Create floor plans for events that require a specific configuration of the space and communicates the vision to our clients and operations team.
- Complete event packages for all events which include: (FOH & BOH BEO, Floor Plan and Custom Menus).
- Coordinate with culinary and operations teams to ensure all items are on site for events.
- Liaison with external vendors required for events.
- Execution of 15 to 300 guests events.
- Manage event timelines and ensure that events run smooth and meet client expectations.
- Ensure that events are executed within budget.
- Manage event staff and delegate task to ensure event success.
- Gather post-event feedback and develop ways to improve client satisfaction to create customer loyalty and deliver a positive event experience.
- Attend Event related meetings as required.
What You'll Need:
- Post-secondary education in a discipline pertinent to the job description.
- Minimum 1 year event management experience.
- Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Client Centric, focused on creating and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
- Highly organized, time management skills, ability to multitask numerous projects and events while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Ability to create a strong rapport with colleagues, onsite staff and the Operations Team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, in person, written and by phone.
- Agile and able to pivot in a fast-paced environment, comfortable with change.
- Displays a positive attitude and body language when speaking with guests, being on the restaurant floor and communicating with the Operations Team.
- High level of professionalism with language used and appearance.
- Strong leadership skills, proficiency in delegating tasks to the onsite staff.
- Calm demeanor under pressure, dealing with challenging guests and issues that may arise during the event's execution.
- Ability to deal with the stresses of completing multiple tasks at once
- Ability to problem solve and find creative solutions
- Proficiency using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email
